Nestled on Morningside Drive in the heart of Auckland, Kita Cafe is not just a place to grab a bite; it’s a warm embrace of flavors and community. A family-run cafe that radiates genuine hospitality, Kita Cafe is renowned for its delightful blend of classic Kiwi dishes and vibrant Malaysian cuisine, striking a perfect balance that appeals to diverse palates.

The inviting atmosphere of Kita Cafe makes it an ideal spot for anyone looking to savor a delicious meal or leisurely sip of coffee. As you step inside, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee mingling with the sizzling delights from the kitchen welcomes you, instantly lifting your spirits. Whether you’re catching up with friends or enjoying some quiet time, the cozy ambiance envelops you like an old friend.

Food lovers will find themselves spoilt for choice. For lunch, the chicken curry lunch box priced at just $13 is a revelation with its hearty portion and rich flavors, as praised by a customer who exclaimed, "delish Malaysian food." If you’re craving something spicy, the laksa has won the hearts of many regulars, so much so that one patron described it as a ritual that sets a delightful tone for her weekends. The sambal served with it adds a tantalizing kick that keeps customers coming back for more.

For those who enjoy traditional breakfasts, you can indulge in classic options like eggs Benedict or French toast, perfect for those who prefer a milder start to their day. A recent customer noted, “It’s kid friendly also with plenty of parking out front!” making it a great destination for families.

While the menu offers a diverse range of options including wraps and salads, one feedback worth noting is the request for alternatives to the generous mayo which some diners feel overshadows the freshness of the salads. However, with so many other dishes shining bright, there is always something for everyone to enjoy!

To complement your meal, Kita Cafe excels at crafting a variety of beverages including exceptional coffees, hot chocolates, and an assortment of baked goodies like muffins and cookies. In fact, a loyal customer shared “Kita Cafe is one of my favourites,” highlighting the cafe's atmosphere and service as top-notch.

In essence, Kita Cafe is more than just a dining space; it's a culinary sanctuary where flavors collide, and friendships bloom. Open six days a week and complemented by ample free parking, it beckons you to come, sit, and savor the taste of community and deliciousness.

Lovely people with a wide rage of food to choose (classic kiwi to Indonesian and other Asian foods). My only issue with their food is too much mayo on almost every takeout food. Their salad/ wrap is fresh but the mayo somehow ruins it. Hope they provide other dressing or let customer decide whether to put on the mayo or not.

A cozy, family-run Malaysian coffee shop offering an extensive Western menu alongside classic Malaysian dishes. I ordered the long-missed Mee Goreng, bursting with wok hei (the smoky aroma from stir-frying). The scrambled eggs, the soul of Mee Goreng, were perfectly cooked, and the prawns were large and delightfully springy. The service was warm, genuine, and heartfelt. With a wide variety of food options and excellent value for money, their Seafood Mee Goreng at RM20.00 is an absolute steal.

The best laksa! It’s my weekly ritual, coming here every Saturday morning for my laksa. It sets my weekend up. I love their sambal that comes with it! It’s a great place to come as they cater for both the Asian and European palettes. If having spicy food for breakfast is not your thing, you can have traditional eggs Benedict or French toast. It’s kid friendly also with plenty of parking out front!

Kita Cafe is one of my favourite Cafes and has brilliant service. Their Coffees, Hot Chocolates, muffins, cookies, and pies are brilliant aswell! Highly Recommended! Edit: Last day 28 June, literally crying that she shut down.

At a $9 price point the pies needed to be on point. You won’t be disappointed I had the bacon and egg , puff pastry, generous filling. If I lived in Auckland I’d head back again for sure

Great wee spot, I have been coming since they opened. Rebecca is a sweetheart and makes super coffee.. she's super kind and friendly. You can park right at the door and dogs are welcome. Mix of traditional brunch options lunch, great pies quality ingredients.. they used to do the food at The Fridge in Kingsland. Laksa superb Nasi Goreng... on point Satay and roti great... I have tried most of their Malaysian stuff.. and i am back regularly. I bought home a great carrot cake today. They do very nice salads and counter food... and a slap up english breakfast and eggs Benedict. You can see they have super reviews... and are highly regarded by Auckland foodies in the know.

The best of both worlds. Yummy Malaysian favourites plus scrumptious Kiwi all day breakfast menu items. Opted for roti canai, nasi lemak, mee goreng (no photo) and egg bene with bacon. Best kept secret in Morningside. Plus the friendliest and most accommodating host, Rebecca.
